Terry Cook

KES 1947-1954

This is to let you know that my brother Terence, T.G.Cook (KES 1947-54) passed away in the early hours of this morning. He was in the advanced stages of a form of dementia which he had been suffering for some years.

He is survived by his wife Pamela, son Paul and daughter Christina, both of whom are themselves Old Edwardians.

Terry left KES in 1954 intending to read French and Spanish at St. Edmund Hall Oxford. However after studying Russian in the RAF he eventually graduated in Russian and Spanish. He worked in export industries in Sheffield for some years, becoming a Member of the Institute of Export but completed his career teaching modern languages. At school he was awarded the football medal in 1954 and at Oxford captained the St. Edmund Hall Cuppers winning side in 1959. He played cricket and football for Old Edwardians, and whilst at Oxford played at full-back for both Oxford City and Pegasus.
