The dinner was well attended. Rachel Cox, the head of the sixth form common room (head girl), spoke eloquently about what the school meant to her and how her hopes and aspirations had been fulfilled with the help of the school and the staff. The guest speaker Paul Broadbent spoke about his work in the senior echelons of policing in South Yorkshire and Sheffield in particular as well as his current work with the Home Office and modern day slavery issues. His speech was highly entertaining and well received.
The input from John Cornwell on his book about KES and the First World War was particularly poignant.
