John Phillips

KES 1967-1974

jrpIt is with deep regret and sadness that we have to announce the untimely death of John Phillips, President of the Old Edwardians Association, last Tuesday.

John was an Old Edwardian of the highest order and the school was one of the greatest loves of his life. His school years were 1967-74 striding both the grammar school and comprehensive years. He went on to become President of the Association in 2003. John was instrumental in restoring the portrait of King Edward VII to the vestibule at the Upper School and in working tirelessly to encourage ALL old Edwardians to take part and share his love of the school. We are deeply in debt to him for his efforts over the years and he will be very sorely missed. John leaves his wife Marie and two daughters Olga and Ciara. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

John’s funeral will take place at 10.00 on Tuesday 3rd July at:
St William of York Church
Ecclesall Road
Sheffield S11 8TL (all welcome)

There will be a burial for John at Abbey Lane Cemetery (family only) following the service.

Following this everyone is invited to:

Baldwin's Omega
Brincliffe Hill
Off Psalter Lane
Sheffield S11 9DF

Family flowers only please and Marie has requested any donations to be made in lieu of flowers to the Myasthenia Gravis Association.
