FOUR sixth-formers at King Edward VII School, Sheffield have taken their first steps into the motor trade ...

They have bought a 1964 Bedford-Viva for £35, and are making it fit for the road during school craft lessons which couple with car maintenance classes.

The four, John Phillips of †Richmond Road, Richmond, Keith Shivers, of Bocking Lane, Beauchief, Brian Wilson of Bradfield Road, Hillsborough and Paul Goodlad of Crawford Road, Norton then plan to sell the vehicle to cover their costs.

"We don't expect to make a great deal of profit out of it, but it's given us the experience of both buying and working on a car," said John.

The four have put a new wing on the van, and had to carry out other bodywork repairs ... already costing them a futher £15.
