[Philip Allen (1912-2007) became Sir Philip Allen and then Lord Allen of Abbeydale;
he left KES in 1930 with a Scholarship to Queens' College, Cambridge.
The July 1934 Magazine records that he obtained 1st Class Honours in Part II History Tripos (1933) ;
1st Class Honours in Part I Mediaeval and Modern Languages Tripos (1934) ;
Whewell International Law Scholarship of 100 ; Bachelor Scholarship for History and College Prize.]
