Dear Old Edwardian,
GRAND REUNION 90TH ANNIVERSARY
Saturday 21st September 1996
The preliminary response to the proposal for a Grand Reunion has been overwhelming with hundreds of expressions of interest. We need, therefore, to move to the next phase of our planning and to ascertain how many Old Edwardians we should expect.
Out intention is for an informal event, with speeches kept to a minimum, to take place between 7.30 p.m. and 11.30 p.m. in the Main Hall and Vestibule and surrounding areas. A buffet (cost £8.50 per ticket) will be served and a bar will be available. The School will be open for you to explore and to reminisce and the new building will also be open for your inspection. The Lord Mayor of Sheffield has kindly agreed to attend the Reunion to extend a welcome on behalf of the City of Sheffield. There will be an exhibition of memorabilia in the Library.
In order to assist us in finalising our preparations, it would be most helpful if you could complete and return the attached reply slip(s) with a cheque for the appropriate amount(s) (made payable to King Edward VII School).
Several Old Edwardians have asked whether it would be in order to attend with their partners or close family and I am pleased to confirm that we will be delighted to welcome you and your guests to the Reunion.
We expect the Reunion to gather further momentum nearer the time but we will endeavour to publish a list of names and addresses of all those attending on the evening.
We are all looking forward with great anticipation to the Reunion and I hope to see you on the 21st September 1996.
With best wishes.
Michael Lewis
